“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: “What!” You Too? I thought I was the only one.” - C,S. Lewis
I love that true friendship doesn't mean that you need to see one another every day or that you are directly involved in every thing that person is doing. True friendship remains when you don't see each other as often as you'd like. Or when you forget to text or call. It withstands distance, time and change.
I'm just so thankful for this family. Even though we have gone seasons without seeing one another, there is just that much more joy when we do get to catch up. Even though it seems like their children are feet taller even in just a few months, and maybe we each added another child to the family in the meantime, we are still close at heart. I also know that if it's almost midnight and our car breaks down, we can call them. Or if I need to get back in shape and want a running buddy, she's there. (Even if we cancel every other time because our kids don't seem to have the same motivation for us to get into shape as we do...or maybe we don't either...).
I'm grateful for these friends. For their encouragement and their support. It's a blessing to take these pictures every year and see how much has changed. How their kids grow from year to year. And how lovely it is to just spend time together - even if it's just a photo shoot :)
