A Few of My Favorite Things

So, I thought I might take a few blog posts to tell you all a little about me...I'm not very good at talking about myself, but I love telling stories - which is something that I think photography is all about. So I would like to take a few days to tell you a few stories - some stories about some of my favorite things :)

So, My First Favorite Thing:

My Girls

When my husband and I were dating, he started talking about kids and I thought I was going to have a panic attack. I would literally freak out - you can ask him - when he mentioned how excited he was to have kids. I told him he needed to give me five years before he even said the "K" word and maybe then we could talk.

Fortunately for him (and our kids) it was only two years before I finally felt like we could talk about having kids and not panic. And boy, that was all she wrote! For anyone who has kids, I'm sure you can relate, but the last three years has gone by so quickly. I can't even imagine what it's like not to think about nap times, meal times or pry the children off one another. I don't remember what it's like not to put diapers and wipes into the budget, or go out to eat without thinking about if they have things the kids will want to eat (or be able to, since our children like to get their teeth in really late!)

But oh, the joy! The joy of a giggle and a smile, the joy of hearing a toddler making up her own songs and stories, the snuggles, and even the days of cleaning up puke or poop or wiping boogers (which I have to do quickly or my toddler will ear hers!) - those days are joyful. They are filled with exhaustion, frustration and sometimes tears. But the fact that I have those tears, I have those hard moments with them is a blessing that I will take because with it is the joy of having kids at all.

When my husband and I got married, I didn't think I would be able to love anything as much as I loved him. But then the girls came, and now he has some serious competition ;)

(Even though we both know he will always come out on top ;) )
