Gosh, I can't tell you how much I love taking pictures for the same family year after year...the kids grow up so much, and when I edit the pictures I can't help but be flooded by memories of when I did the NEWBORN pictures for them! AHH! It's such a bizarre and awesome feeling to watch these kids grow so much! The real joy is when you take pictures long enough that they get to the stage where A) They actually say "HI!" to you when you arrive on site and B) They actually smile
I am pretty sure this girl does not get cold. I had on my huge parka coat and my hands were SO COLD by the time we were done! And here she is, in a tiny sweater and a beanie just playing in the snow! What a blast we had, heading up the canyon and enjoying the snow! It's been such a great winter for skiers (which makes a difficult winter for me ;) ) so it was great to get up there and see how tall the snow banks have gotten over the last few months!
Now, this girl is celebr
There is very little news that is more exciting than.... A BABY IS ON THE WAY! Ahh! We are so absolutely thrilled for this wonderful family who is expecting their second child! Adding the first to their family through the beautiful process (albeit difficult and oftentimes discouraging) of adoption, and expecting to add their second in the same way, God totally threw them a surprise!! How awesome is God?? I was so excited to be able to take these pictures for them. I hope you
Oh my goodness. I had such a blast chasing this little firecracker around! I always love meeting families in parks or out in nature, but it's even more fun when I get to join a family in their own home and their own backyard! I feel like those images carry so much more nostalgia when you get to look back - remembering the kids playing on the playset or jumping in puddles. It's just so beautiful! Thank you for having me to your home and treating me like family for an evening!
I love doing shoots for GIANT families like this. To think of the impact that two people can have on the world - it's astonishing. Just seeing three generations together is absolutely wonderful. I asked Mrs. Kirby how long they had been married and when she told me 43 years, I was just ecstatic. I love that! More than four DECADES together! That's a full decade longer than I have been alive! I can only hope and pray that my husband and I will be blessed with as many years , a
With the colors turning, it's been a really busy few weeks over here! But I loved getting out on a day that threatened rain all weekend, but gave us a reprieve so that we could do this shoot! Woo hoo! October can be such a finicky month out here in Utah - 7 years ago when I married my husband, it was 80 degrees on October 15th. The following year I'm pretty sure we got snow. You just never know! But this year has been different - color in the mountains, but down in the valley
Corporate Headshots are just a little something I started toying around with this year, and I absolutely love them. With family and wedding photography, it feels like you're flying by the seat of your pants most of the time - it's fast paced, you're hardly taking your face away from the camera because you don't want to miss that one awesome shot that will just make your whole day worth it. But headshots are different. They are more calculated, more directed and more, well, i
